April 2014 – Dead Vlei, Namibia
We planned to arrive Dead Vlei early morning to witness the classic scene of Dead Vlei – The golden-orange light of dawn illuminate the tips of the dead camelthorn trees that point skeletal branches at the lightening sky. But we were late because there were simply too many beautiful dunes along the way. So beautiful that it was hard not to stop the car to admire. By the time when we reached Dead Vlei, it was already 9:30am where the sunlight has swept across the pan of the former lake.
